Additionally, the resort's outdoor areas, including parks and beautiful walking trails, were great for children. Despite some minor drawbacks, such as delayed check-ins and cramped rooms, the facilities at the resort were well-suited for families with small children. The children's entertainment program exceeded expectations and included a kids' disco, movie nights and various activity options. The staff was extra helpful for single parents, while families with pets appreciated the pet-friendly policy. Overall, the Macdonald Aviemore Hotel is a super family-friendly destination with lots to do for both kids and adults.

Despite this, the hotel is a great place for families - everything you need is close by and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. If you're planning a trip with a group, this hotel is fantastic - one reviewer even mentioned that it was perfect for their group of 14. Overall, we highly recommend this fabulous family resort and will definitely be returning.

The Christmas activities tailored to children in the theatre were great and there's loads of other activities too. However, the swimming pool was too cold for some, including a 2-year-old. The amenities and facilities are included, which is really nice and the food was of high quality, but some kids' meals were the worst the guests had ever tasted. The family rooms, unfortunately, were not available, only connected rooms. Despite some negative experiences, overall, the Macdonald Highlands Hotel is a fantastic family location, perfect for those traveling with toddlers and kids.

Upon arrival, we were pleased to find a cot already set up in our comfortable and spacious room. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain everything the hotel had to offer as well as attractions in the area. They even went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, accommodating my wife who has Alzheimer's.

The Kingsmills Hotel is also very family and dog-friendly with a patio area for dogs and a large swimming pool for the kids. However, we did notice a lack of night lights by the children's bunk beds, which may be something to keep in mind. Additionally, while the hotel is exceptionally dog-friendly, some guests noted that an area where they could sit with their dog in a basket would be a great addition.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Kingsmills Hotel and would highly recommend it to families looking for a comfortable and accommodating getaway. Just be aware that the WiFi can be dodgy and that a men's changing cubicle for kids may be handy.
